Vote for A Logo for Human Rights

At present there is no internationally recognized symbol for human rights. The “Logo for Human Rights” initiative wants to change that! Logos win people over through their symbolic power, distinctiveness, clarity and universal applicability. The initiative was established out of conviction that a human rights logo will make a peaceful contribution towards the global spread and implementation of human rights. In order to find this logo, a global creative online competition with cash prizes has been launched. The initiative has the support of renowned stakeholders, supporters and partners from all walks of life. The aim of the initiative is to create a human rights logo “by people for people”, thus making a contribution towards the global spread and implementation of human rights with the support of a large public.

The closing date for this competition has now unfortunately passed, but you can still be part of this inspiring design challenge. You are invited to discuss and assess the logo competition entries with people from all over the world, supported by a team of experts. A prominent jury will make a pre-selection from all the entries. In a global public online ballot, the winner will be chosen from among the top 10. From 6th of August 2011 until 21st of August 2011 The jury chooses 10 finalists. From 27th of August 2011 until 17th of September 2011 The world votes for the final winning logo.

Kayleigh Hadley - spotted by 'Look Like Love'

Whilst at D@AD, New Blood,  recent graphics graduate, Kayleigh Hadley was spotted by the 'Look Like Love' group who have headlined her work on their blog.
http://look-likelove.blogspot.com/2011/07/typographic-lyricist.html

Look Like Love is a creative company whose aim is to support and nurture design graduates in all fields, so that after studying they can produce and sell their own work. Look Like Love aim to give graduates, such as Kayleigh the means with which to do this via an up-coming on-line store and eventually a retail space. Their service is aimed at also extending to part-time designers, and people who make and create in their spare-time, but do not have the means to start their own small business. Although the reach of ‘Look Like Love’ will be to attract graduates/part-time designers and enable them to showcase and sell their work, the hope is to attract like-minded creatives, young professional, in fact anyone looking for a one-off or limited edition piece from a potential design talent of the future.

“ We have just spotted the work of graphic design graduate Kayleigh Hadley. We absolutely loved her hand-made type pieces on display at the recent D&AD New Blood exhibition. Especially in a world completely awash with digital representations, Kayleigh's passion for keeping it real is evident in every stroke of her fine-liner. They are rebellious & cheeky & we love it...!” said Look Like Love
