Artsfest webinar - Beatrice Warde, Books Across the Sea

Graphic design lecturer Jessica Glaser has hosted a recent public webinar on Beatrice Warde, discussing her war time anglo-American Book exchange, Books Across the Sea. Known as the publicity manager of the Monotype Corporation, and as the ‘First Lady of Typography’ during World War Two Warde became an anti-Fascist campaigner, founding ‘Books Across the Sea’ to support cultural understanding and in so doing counter Nazi efforts to divide.
