Variations of a Typographer

Variations of a Typographer, a two day conference exploring a diverse selections of type and design related topics, has just taken place at Birmingham City University. 2 of the speakers have a direct connection with University of Wolverhampton. Graphics alumni Evripides Zantides, who is now Assistant Professor at Cyprus University of Technology gave a fascinating talk about The use of eye-tracker technology to evaluate gender perception biases on typeface design and characteristics. 
Jessica Glaser, Senior lecturer in graphic communication gave a paper entitled The Graphic Sandwich a visual metaphor for the layered, textural and tonal experience of graphic design. An investigation and unravelling, layer by layer.
