Coconut Creatives
Coconut Media is a marketing and media agency that specialises in the franchise sector offering full service consultancy and short-term projects. We motivate and energise franchisors to achieve their franchise recruitment objectives. Along with our sister company Coconut Creatives, we are the award-winning and leading marketing company in the franchise industry. Headed up by qualified chartered marketers and PR professionals, we are the only published author on franchise recruitment marketing. Based in a seafront office in Bournemouth, you will design and artwork advertising and promotional collateral - sometimes creating a concept from scratch and sometimes with the aid of brand guidelines to provide work that answers the briefs and meets the requirements of our franchise clients. You will bring a fresh perspective to our franchise client activities and our CIPR and CIM accredited Directors will support your development as a marketing communications professional. Ultimately, you will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a great variety of clients.

You will be required to create graphics across a wide range of disciplines including: advertising and branding, brochures, e-newsletters, promotional material for events and web-based design activity. This job is an excellent opportunity to develop your artwork skills whilst gaining a valuable insight into the franchise sector - the only sector to experience growth in this difficult economic period. The role allows for much creative freedom and has good career progression.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supporting the company’s design work for our business and for our clients
  • Designing and creating advertisements: print and online
  • Monitoring ad bookings, liaise with media and maintain a schedule of work
  • Attending external events such as conferences, workshops and exhibitions
  • Support the development of marketing materials from draft to print stage
  • Brand Guardian for Coconut Media, Coconut Creatives and our clients
  • Produce brand guidelines for clients
  • Liaise with printers for quotes and production
  • Provide status reports and updates as necessary
  • Attend client meetings with a Coconut Director
  • Maintain the firm’s website; keep site content fresh and updated in coordination with the our external webmaster
  • Undertake market research
  • General office administration tasks

Essential Skills & Attributes
  • YOU MUST HAVE an eye for detail
  • Good understanding and experience using InDesign, Photoshop and other design software
  • Fluent Mac user and competent with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interpret a design brief
  • Positive and confident telephone manner
  • Willingness to learn with a positive ‘can do’ attitude is essential
  • Organised, self-motivated and the ability to work well within a team
  • Graphic Design/Communications degree
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while prioritising work assignments
  • Good working knowledge of social media applications: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook
Desirable Skills & Attributes
  • Knowledge of the franchise industry
  • Ability to adapt to, and work within, the company’s creative, fun, vibrant culture
  • Knowledge of website marketing and experience of CMS systems
  • HTML knowledge to build branded e-newsletters would be an advantage
  • Experience in other software programmes and photography is advantageous but not essential.
