You will be involved in many aspects of book design including picture research, page layout, preparing files for pre-press, reviewing proofs for colour, working with production on covers for clients and organizing files on the server.
We are looking for design candidates who are organised, highly computer literate and able to handle a busy and varied workload.
Internships last for a minimum of 4 weeks full-time, and hours are 9.30-5.30pm. Travel and food expenses of up to £75.00 per week will be reimbursed on approval of receipts. Permanent position may be offered at end of internship.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Proficient at using InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Illustrator
• Confident working on Apple Macs with good general computer knowledge
• Understanding of four-colour illustrated book production for print
• Strong typography
• Knowledge of web-based design
• Knowledge of QuarkXPress
• Some previous experience of preparing files ready for repro
• Be able to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
