The final year Textile students at the School of Art and Design have recently been involved in a competition to design a product range for an outdoor living collection. Products include deck chairs, cushions, beach windbreaks, etc…
The collection is to be launched by More by Design at their Custard Factory/Birmingham showroom in March 2013. http://www.morebydesign.com
The new collection will be called 10°.
The number 10 refers to the number of students who have been selected to contribute to the collection, while the temperature degree symbol is used in place of the word “degrees”.
Competition
To design a new logo for the 10° brand using a fresh approach to create an inspiring result.
Inspiration
Your design could be inspired by anything but remember that this is a Spring-Summer collection so colour is key. The logo needs to reflect sophisticated outdoor living with a contemporary feel. Be as experimental as you wish using a range of media and mark making, hand drawn text, water colour, line drawings and collage, combining this with digital effects, or standard graphic font typography…..
Product/Logo application
The new logo will only use 2 colours.
It will be printed onto a 5cm x 5cm swing tag which will be printed on both sides.
One side will have just the 10° logo, while the back of the tag will have the words:-Exclusively designed for More By Design by Textile degree students – University of Wolverhampton on it, in whatever format you consider suitable. (Again, only using the 2 original colours)
