A talented Junior Cover Designer is needed to work at a leading fiction publisher in SW London to support the design team in creating book covers for specific eBook projects.  This is an extended temp position leading to perm.  A Portfolio of jacket design or similar artwork needed to demonstrate experience.
Key duties:
  • Cover design for series of fiction book titles
  • Picture research
  • Creation of artwork for covers using templates
  • Produce print ready files to established specifications
  • Work closely with editorial and operations staff
  • Art-working the finished designs
  • Creating cover templates
  • Creating banners for various internal clients
  • Delivering various work stages on time and under pressure
Experience / skills required:
  • Experience in InDesign, Photoshop and Mac based design work essential
  • Graphic Design qualification would be advantageous
  • A background in trade book cover design is preferred
  • The ability to work within an established set of styles
  • Confidence to liaise with Editorial, Sales & Marketing colleagues
  • Portfolio of jacket design or similar artwork needed to demonstrate experience
  • Interest in women’s fiction / romantic fiction / current popular culture
