Matt Jones - Shortlisted for the Penguin Design Award 2013


Matt Jones, illustration MA student has been shortlisted for Penguin Design Award 2013. This is the second time that Matt has been been shortlisted for this award which is hotly contested - this year attracting just under 1,400 entires.

"The Illustration subject team are delighted with Matt’s success. Producing a fresh, timeless, cover for a familiar book is a difficult task and to be shortlisted once is great, but to be shortlisted twice is a fantastic achievement" says John Clementson

Matt's design is for the children's classic, Wind in the Willows. His design and other shortlised works will be posted on the Penguin site by June 26.


"I am thrilled to be shortlisted for the Penguin Design Award 2013, The story of the Wind in the Willows is one of my fondest tales from childhood making this competition all the sweeter. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on this project and to be shortlisted for this award twice in the past four years is amazing, An achievement I am extremely proud of." says Matt
