Welcome freshers

Freshers week begins today and we are pleased to be welcoming a new cohort of students to the Visual Communications division. Students this year are coming from all over the UK and in fact the world, giving the divisions 3 popular courses a truly international flavour.

During this first week a range of social and welcoming activities will be taking place, together with University briefings and subject specific inductions.

One of the highlights of the week will undoubtedly be the Visual Communications trip to Liverpool on Wednesday. Staff and students will be visiting Crosby Beach, now the permanent home of ‘Another Place’, the sculpture by internationally acclaimed artist, Antony Gormley.

Students will then go on to explore the Albert Dock having the chance to visit Tate Liverpool http://www.tate.org.uk/liverpool/

The International Slavery Museum http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/ism/
the award-winning Beatles Story and the Merseyside Maritime Museum among other locations.

Staff and existing students would like to extend a warm welcome to all new 'Freshers' beginning their studies in the Visual Communication division this week.
