Graduate Success - Jon Banks MA

Shown in this post is some of the work of Jon Banks, recent  MA graduate specialising graphic design from the Design & Applied Arts MA. More of Jon's work can be seen in his online portfolio on http://www.artsthread.com/p/jonbanks
Design shown here include,
ANASTASIA
A representation of a sporting event that will be hosted at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Jon's design is a typographic, dialectical representation of the sport of Synchronised Swimming, based upon the christian names of the current champions Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova.

Also featured here is SWEETIE, DARLING...
A poster for an exhibition celebrating fifty years of the Helvetica typeface. The design represents a single year of the life-time of Helvetica.

After selecting the year of 1992, Jon decided to base his design upon the sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, (1992 being the shows debut year).  He showcases a typographic expression of the language used by shows key characters.
