Robin Walton - Graduate Success

After graduating with a degree in Graphic Communication from the University of Wolverhampton, I started work for Point Design, a packaging design company based in Essex. Although a small studio, I had the opportunity to design for major UK clients including Tesco, Boots and the Disney Store and I learnt a considerable amount.

At University I met a Spanish girl and in 2002 I moved to Madrid to be with her. In Madrid I started work as a designer for a very small design company (Lacia de packaging, branding...). Within 5 years I became creative director and associate partner,  plus Lacia had grown to be one of Spain's leading branding agencies. During my time at Lacia I worked for Coca Cola, Carrefour and some of Spain's leading companies and we won many packaging design awards eg. bestpack, anuaria, and many other marketing awards.

Leaving Lacia was a very difficult decision to make but I felt that I had achieved all that I could and I was looking for a new challenge. I left and began designing for Addison Spain. Here I was able to work a flexible timetable and so had the time and the opportunity to begin freelancing.

In 2008 I began Narrow House. We are a small, award winning studio (creativity award, anuaria) that specialises in packaging and branding. We try to mix the best of both worlds - the creativity and flexibility of a small boutique studio with the knowledge, experience and professionalism of a large agency. We currently have clients in Spain, Bulgaria, UK and South Africa.

Designs shown here include PasiĆ³n for Fashion: Branding for www.pasionforfashion.com; the first online portal specialising in Spanish fashion and Spanish designers. These designs have been awared 38 Creativity Awards: Winner (platinum) for best fashion packaging and Anuaria: Winner for best packaging.
